Romans and Men-at-Arms

Actually finished something off, so I've changed this blog into a general painting blog rather than just large scale busts. Finished off two units of troops, one Classical and one Medieval. Click the pics to enlarge.

More on the ECW Cavalryman

Completed the metallic parts (breastplate, buckle and helmet), and the buff coat. Still to do: Leather straps, sash, hair, helmet visor.

Royalist Cavalryman

Having abandoned large scale figure painting for a while (and the SCW figure) I've started on this Royalist Cavalryman from El Greco Miniatures. The visor ofthe helmet is a separate piece and will be fitted after the face is finished. Below is another view of the face, on which I need to finish the facial hair.

Not much more done...

...but I have undercoated the shirt.
